Hybrid Technology Guitars are the “Something for Everybody” solution of how to get an instrument with handmade detail, stylish design and quality hardware at an affordable price.

Each Hybrid Instrument is made from select quarter sawn billets of hard maple and choice mahogany tone wood.

The Hybrid guitars are designed with a neck thru configuration, which was the innovation of master luthier Bernard Chavez Rico (founder of B.C. Rich & Bernie Junior’s father).

The initial woodwork is done with CNC precision machining under the strict supervision of Koreas finest guitar builders. Each Hybrid instrument must prove to meet very high standards set by Bernie Rico Jr. in order to pass quality control inspection and become a Rico Jr. Hybrid instrument.

In the production process 3 pieces of hard maple is laminated together and machined in order create a fast playing, comfortable to use neck thru module. Once the module is made, a solid ebony fret board is secured to the module and then it will be capped off with mahogany wings. After the fingerboard is fretted and the instrument is sanded it then can go to be painted and polished.

Once the finish and polishing are complete and the guitar passes final inspection the instrument will be on it’s way to Junior’s custom shop.

Upon arrival at the CustomShop Bernie Rico Jr. assembles and sets up your new Hybrid with the same setup tactics and fierce concentration on perfection that he does with any fine custom made instrument carrying his name.
